Puppy Training – AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program
Program Cost: $300 for 6 weeks of training
Requirements: Puppies must have all their shots prior to starting.
Overview of AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program
The S.T.A.R. program, standing for Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility, is designed to help puppies start on the right path with socialization and basic commands, building a strong foundation for the Canine Good Citizen title.
Benefits of Early Training
Starting with puppy training allows owners to communicate effectively with their puppies, laying the groundwork for good behavior and obedience.
How It Works
- Classes meet once a week over six weeks.
- Homework assignments follow each session.
- At the end of the program, puppies take the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test. Passing allows for enrollment in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program.
Required Items for Class
Leash: 4-6 feet with a traffic handle (no retractable leashes)
Collar: Martingale or Starmark Training Collar

General Obedience Training
Private Training: $500 for 6 weeks
Group Training: $400 for 6 weeks (Group classes begin every 6 weeks – see Events below)
Training Focus
- Commands: Leash walking, sit, stay, down, come, off, leave it, take it, give it, bring it, drop it.
- Social Skills: Training for stranger and other dog interactions.
- Requirements: All dogs must be up-to-date on shots.
- Items for Class: Handlers should bring treats and waste bags.

- When: Tuesdays, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Location: Pet Supplies Plus, 1301-C S Park St, Carrollton, GA 30117
- Additional Sessions: Wednesdays, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Chris will notify participants of the training site)
- Service Dog 2 Training (Munford, Tennessee)
