Meet The Trainers

Hi, I’m Shena, the trainer here at BackroadsK9. I’m excited to be rejoining the team and bringing SST Training alongside BackroadsK9 to help expand the skills and services we offer.

I’ve been training dogs for over 12 years, specializing in obedience and disruptive behaviors. While I enjoy working with all breeds, I’m especially known for training shepherds of all kinds. I’m also a mom of five amazing kids, and you’ll often see them around training they help create real-life situations that allow dogs to learn and grow in a family environment. You may recognize me from my work with the Carroll County Animal Shelter, where I stay actively involved with dogs in need. I’m also excited to bring Board & Train services to BackroadsK9 as a new program option. I truly believe there are no bad dogs, just dogs that need guidance and owners who are willing to be part of the process. Training is a partnership  about 90% owner and 10% dog  and while we focus on your pup, you matter just as much. BackroadsK9 isn’t just about training dogs, it’s about building confidence, trust, and a community that feels like family.
